Organization Information

The overarching goal of the Empowering Pakistan: FIRMS project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is to develop a dynamic, internationally competitive, business sector in Pakistan that is increasing exports, employing more people, and producing higher value added products and services. It will achieve this by: developing priority sectors in Pakistan, strengthening the business development services market, creating entrepreneurial opportunities for Pakistani women, and improving the business enabling environment.

Describe the work that you do in your role

Work with private sector and government stakeholders and with project colleagues to ensure optimal design and implementation of the Project work plan.
Assist in analyzing the demand for Business Development services, in mapping of existing BDS providers, in developing an expanded network of BDS providers, and in integrating of BDS providers into priority sectors;
Assist in building capacity for competitiveness within BDS providers, in designing and delivering BDS provider technical assistance and training, in supporting expansion of opportunities for SMEs at both the policy and grassroots levels, and in promoting international information exchange and buyer-seller interaction; and
Assist in analyzing constraints of female entrepreneurs and BDS providers and in the design and delivery of solutions to ameliorate those constraints

Indicate previous experience and/or areas of career proficiency/achievenments

Having worked as Assistant Manager HR in Azgard9 Pvt.Ltd from 2008-2009 give me a tremendous practical experience of resource utilization w.r.t Human resources. I worked in the capacity of Recruitment & Selection, Performance Appraisals.

What do you remember about your time in ILM / IMT /UMT?

I found myself lucky that i was taught by a good faculty. I would like to thanks few of them for mentoring me, giving me good advice whenever i needed and equipped me with the first hand knowledge. In this regard i would like to thanks: Sir Sohail Rizvi, Sir Kamran Rashid, Dr. Dania Qazi, Sir. Majid Ali Wajid, Sir. Qazi, Mr. Waqar, Sir. Nazim, Sir. Asher Ramesh and Sir. Naveed Yazdani.
