The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, commonly Capital Metro or Cap Metro, is a public transportation provider located in Austin, Texas. Capital Metro was established by a referendum on January 19, 1985, to provide mass transportation service to the greater Austin metropolitan area. Voters in Austin and the surrounding area approved the creation of the agency, to be funded in part by a 1 percent sales tax. Capital Metro commenced operations on July 1, 1985, and took over the existing city of Austin bus services in 1986
Describe the work that you do in your role
I am currently working as Head of The Project Controls Office at Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority. My role is to direct the department in providing a transparent reporting system. I train, lead and direct team in developing project management standards in an organization. Also, involve in Process audits. I am responsible for preparing the Funding Plans and prioritzing the projects.
Indicate previous experience and/or areas of career proficiency/achievenments
Previously I worked as a Manager of Project Management and Controls in the Transportation and Public Works Department in the Texas Local Government. I lead a team in developing the Project Management Process Map which improved the project management process for which I was appreciated with many awards. I have obtained many Licences and Professional Certifications such as Texas Professional Engineer Licence, Project Management Professional, Risk Management Professional, and Scheduling Professional to name a few.
Describe your success in your professional life and achievements
I have and currently am working for the Project Management Institute as a Subject Matter Expert for the betterment of the Project Management Profession. I have been involved in developing and reviewing project management standards such as Practicing Standards of Earned Value Management, the extensions of PMBOK. I am also a member of the team that develops exam questions for PMP and RMP
Write your activities and achievement if you were member of any club or society in UMT?
I was not involved in any club or society at UMT.
What do you remember about your time in ILM / IMT /UMT?
Those were the best days, I was full of energy. Working for Descon Engineering, Running my Construction business, and doing post-graduation in the evening. I managed to pull my colleagues into this program and was known as the Descon group. I achieved a Shaheen "Eagle" from Late Rector for my high performance (Rector Merit Award).
