I am Associate Professor in Faculty of Media and Communication Studies, University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore. Before joining UCP, I served as TV Producer at Pakistan Television (PTV), Lahore centre from 2005 to 2020. Before this, I was working as a Lecturer in different private institutions.
Describe the work that you do in your role
At University of Central Punjab, I am not only responsible to teach at different levels but I am also supervising different TV and film related projects and theses at PhD level.
In PTV, I produced programmes of different formats including talk shows, live transmissions, drama, documentaries, cooking shows and music shows etc. I have also been working as an independent Filmmaker.
Indicate previous experience and/or areas of career proficiency/achievenments
I have done PhD in Media & Communication from TU Dresden, Germany. Prior to this, I completed my first PhD in the field of Adaptive Hypermedia and E-Learning from University of Education, Lahore in 2012. I have 17 research papers on my credit which were published in reputed journals. Further, I have also presented 4 papers and a poster at international conferences.

1) Video of The Year Award on documentary "Tormented Souls" from Silver Lining Creation (NGO), Finland in 2011.
2) Distinguished Alumni Award for Academic Leadership, UMT, Lahore, 2012.
3) Nominated as Best Director-Short Film in LUMS International Film Festival (FiLUMS), 2012.
4) Nominated as Best Producer for PTV Regional Awards, 2009 & 2010.
5) Dean’s Merit Award on getting GPA: 3.93/4.0 in a Trimester of MSc (Computer Science), ILM, 2001.
6) Placed in Dean’s Honour List on getting GPA: 3.67/4.0 in coursework of PhD (Mass Communication), Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Pakistan, 2014.

What do you remember about your time in ILM / IMT /UMT?
When I got enrollment in MSc (Computer Science) in 1999 then it was the first time for me to get familiarized with modern educational system. It was really a disciplined environment in ILM at that time, and I started learning how to do work on small projects, presentations, case studies, and especially in collaborative learning environment.
