VIP Group (Pvt.) Limited, an ISO 9000-9002 certified company is the second largest manufacturer and exporter of leather garments and motor bike apparel from Pakistan since 1983. It is dealing with the World’s Leading Brands of Leather Garments and Chain Stores. It exports merchandise of worth US$ 35 million per annum.
Working as a Merchandiser I have been assigned to explore new markets, make new customers, ensure persistent execution of orders of the customers coordinating with respective personnel from leather & accessories procurement, production planning & control and ensuring in time delivery. So in order to keep in touch with customers I have to contact via emails & telephonic calls to update them with production status. As I am working in business development environment I have to maintain & serve as point of contact between the clients and with the Administrative Offices concerning production issues, resolve production discrepancies and support my colleagues at the same time.
Describe your success in your professional life and achievements
I joined the company as an assistant production manager, i wasn't satisfied with the working environment. Records wasn't maintain properly, production took too much time due to many reasons e.g. late leather development, late material arrival etc so at that time i took some steps like guide the respective personnels to maintain data on computer systems as well as manual, started emails to respective departs and provide them with dates so to the material should be in-house within the lead time. Due to my this exercise the seniors promoted me from Assistant P.P.C to a Marketing Executive. Now as a Merchandiser i made the entire collection of leather garments for new season and i am still working to introduce some new developments in this industry
Write your activities and achievement if you were member of any club or society in UMT?
I was the Senior Vice President of Society welfare society, Our team was the pioneer of this society. We organized many functions, events for students e.g. movie nights, some social events, ufest, blood donation camps etc. I was awarded with university color and best performance award.
What do you remember about your time in ILM / IMT /UMT?
That was the wonderful time. I learnt a lot as well as groomed my abilities and my skills as a student & as a society member. We always enjoyed, always wanted to do something new. My strength was my society team. I miss them, we had a very wonderful time. My teachers and especially OPA members, Mr. Iftikhar, Mr. Faisal were always helpful. So thumbs up for all of you people
