Dr Nadeem Ahmad Khan

Organization Information

Leading the "Quality Assurance and Institutional Research Portfolio" in one of leading HE public sector institutions of UAE. Currently based in Abu Dhabi Emirate. Higher Colleges of Technology HCT is one of the three public sector institutions in UAE that have been awarded a public University Status by the UAE government.

Describe the work that you do in your role

Working as AAA Academic Accreditation and Advancement and QIIRC Quality Improvement and Institutional Research Lead in Abu Dhabi Women's College (City and Khalifa Campuses).
My role is central in the college as it encompasses both academic and services functions of the institutes. I work as the college representative at the Central Services who overlook the entire system of HE institutions spread across all seven Emirates of UAE.

Indicate previous experience and/or areas of career proficiency/achievenments

Worked as consultant for the European Projects funded by the EC's Leonardo da Vinci grants program. Details available at www.emcet.net

Describe your success in your professional life and achievements

I was awarded prestigious British Chevening Scholarship jointly funded by the Open Society Institute, Noon Educational Foundation and the Oxford University Press to read for a Higher Degree from the University of Oxford, UK. Following that, I was one of the 10 PhD scholarship holders funded by the ORS Overseas Research Scheme and the University of Nottingham for PhD studies selected from several thousand well qualified applicants.
Developed a network of Modular Training Providers in Europe. Contributed to the book entitled: Modular Vocational Education and Training: Examples of good practices in Europe".

Write your activities and achievement if you were member of any club or society in UMT?

Published in-house student magazine PRISM, Organised students' events/ trips. Represented students of FEMT (Faculty of Educational Management and Technology and SEA School of Education and Arts). Represented FEMT in Aga Khan University, Karachi.

What do you remember about your time in ILM / IMT /UMT?

I enjoyed my time as a student and then as a teacher. I still remember those who contributed in my education and training particularly Dr. Mushtaq -ur-Rehman Siddiqui (my mentor), Dr. Farooq Kunwar (Late), Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, Prof Abdus Samad and of course Dr. Usman Khalil.
