More than 200 alumni along with their families attended special celebrations to acknowledge their contribution in their professional fields and to welcome them to their alma mater. The special networking and get-together session was organized by the Office of Participants Affairs (OPA). The program was initiated with the national anthem followed by recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran. Rana Iftikhar Ahmad, Director OPA, delivered the welcome note.

Dr Hasan Sohaib Muard, Rector UMT and Dr A R Kausar, Pro-Rector UMT, also addressed the gathering. Dr Hasan in particular, singled alumni who had made a mark in their professional lives by becoming entrepreneurs, business leaders and managers. He said that he was proud of the fact that there were many alumni who had set up businesses of their own. He also highlighted ILM/UMT alumni who are working in top positions with over 100 employees reporting to them. Dr Hasan gave a special note of thanks to all those who had come from abroad to attend the celebrations.

An interesting aspect of the evening was an interactive session with the alumni during which gifts were presented to them if they gave the right answer to some questions. At the end, souvenirs were distributed to all the ILM/UMT alumni. The evening ended with a lavish dinner for all the participants.
